Though there was an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the listed steel companies reported positive business results in the first quarter of 2020.
For example, Hoa Phat Group, a leading steelmaker in Vietnam, got revenue of VND 19.5 trillion in the first quarter, up by 28% year on year. The post-tax profit is VND 2.3 trillion during the period, which increased by 27% from the same period in the previous year.
In terms of the stock market, the company’s share also increased rapidly after plunging to a two-year bottom of VND 6,200 per share by the end of March. Now, the firm was traded at the same price level as the beginning of this year.
