For the reason of acquiring exemption from the US steel tariff, Taiwanese government would prohibit Chinese steel imports. However, if China would take counter measures to prohibit Taiwan steel imports, then it might be not conducive to China Steel Corporation (CSC) because Taiwanese steel exports to China was more than imports from China.
The Section 232 came into force on March 23rd which levied 25% tariff to steel imports. Taiwanese government intended to prohibit Chinese steel imports owing to the requirement from the US. Nevertheless, it would be harmful to Taiwan if China took the counter measures to prohibit Taiwanese steel imports.
