According to the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade statistics showed in March this year, Brazil imported 5,200 tons of cold rolled coil, an increase of 8.2% year on year, the average prices fell by 11%, at US$487/ton FOB.
Almost all imports were from Asia, Brazil imported 3,300 tons from China, price was US$370/ton FOB; Korea was1,600 tons, price was US$675/ton FOB; Taiwan was 200 tons, price was US$594/ton.
Currently, Brazil’s cold-rolled imports were lower than exports which reflected several factors, including local industry demand remained weak, the production overcapacity, as well as Brazil currency against strong dollar and so on.
