CSN expects better result for Q2 2019-The 20th China (Guangzhou)Int’l Fastener & Equipment Exhibition

The Brazilian steelmaker CSN estimated a better result of second quarter of this year, mainly due to steel price adjustment and more shipments of iron ore at higher value than beginning of this year.
Benjamin Steinbruch, CEO of CSN, said the steel prices in the second quarter gave his company the chance to make another 10% adjustment, together with the current stock replenishment movement in Brazil it will benefit the company in the coming quarters.
In addition, Steinbruch said his company was expected to increase iron ore shipments in the second quarter, after heavy rains hurt CSN port operations during January to March.
Furthermore, the company’s iron ore price was around US$82/ton in the first quarter of this year, but it would approach US$95/ton in the second quarter.
