Due to the trade war between the US and China upgraded, the US president Trump decided to raise the tariff on US$200 billion worth of Chinese imports from 10% to 25%. The Chinese authorities also announced some countermeasures.
Many Taiwan-based fastener industries were forced to switch their factories to Vietnam, India, Mexico and Brazil for alternative choice. They can''t afford 25% tariff and will not have any orders after adding the high tariff. Therefore, they must set up the new factories besides China.
It was expected that the machinery demand might be good in the coming 5~10 years. According to understanding, Vietnam government offered many good measures for the investors and also had many trade agreements worldwide. It was an ideal choice for many Taiwanese factories to set up new factories in Vietnam.
