Murphy shuts in Gulf oil,gas output ahead of storm

Murphy Oil (MUR.N: Quote) said Friday it is shutting in its oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico ahead of the passage of Tropical Storm Bonnie, including 20,000 barrels per day of crude and around 60 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.
Company spokeswoman Mindy West said the offshore oil and gas platforms to be shut in temporarily as a precautionary measure include Medusa, Habanero and Thunderhawk, where Murphy has equity stakes.
