According to the report, the US imported approximately 55,400 tons of hot-rolled bar in September this year, decreasing by 10.2% from the previous month and 3.1% from the same month a year ago. The import value was around US$49 million, compared to around US$60 million in August and US$55 million in September last year.
Among them, Canada was the main supplied country with about 29,000 tons, compared to about 25,000 tons in last month and around 30,000 tons in September 2018. The other major suppliers included Japan (roughly 12,000 tons), Mexico (about 5,000 tons), France (about 4,000 tons), and Germany (about 3,000 tons).
