Poison gas leak at Monnet steel plant kills labourer and injures another-The 17th China(Guangzhou) Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

PTI reported that a labourer was killed and another injured on Friday after poison gas leaked at the Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd steel plant
The incident occurred at around 1 pm while victims were carrying out maintenance work at a blast furnace in the plant located in Naharpali village under Bhupdeopur police station limits
According to eyewitnesses, the workers collapsed after reportedly inhaling carbon monoxide while doing maintenance work inside the blast furnace section, the police official said.
Soon after the incident, other workers and plant management rushed both of them to the nearby Jindal Hospital where one of them was declared brought dead, the police official said.
The contract workers worked for Nav Engineering which had been assigned maintenance work at Monnet Ispat.
The cause behind the incident is not known and the plant management is being interrogated, the police official said.
