Ann Joo Resources Bhd (AJRB) and Southern Steel Bhd (SSB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a joint venture company on October 7th, 2019.
Both AJRB and SSB are the main producers of steel long products in Malaysia. The new JV company will be a 45% associated company of SSB and 55% subsidiary of AJRB through the issuance of new ordinary shares.
This JV proposal brought the advantages from AJRB and SSB respectively to drive the business and obtain benefits in domestic and export markets and also create better competitive long steel products in South East Asia.
Both parties expected to carry out the final agreement within 90 days from the date of the MoU.
