According to the report, Japanese Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co. Ltd. remained its steel prices the same for February as global market weakened, which was the second month to remain the prices unchanged.
Tokyo Steel Managing Director Kiyoshi Imamura said that they followed the international market to keep the prices stable but the prices already showed the lowest point now. It was expected that steel markets in both China and Southeast Asia would hike when they were back from Chinese Lunar New Year holidays.
Besides, Chinese Shanghai steel rebar prices had dropped by about 9% since the peak point in mid-August 2018. Furthermore, Japanese steel demand was looked for being strong trend in the near future due to 2020 Tokyo Olympics projects.
