According to the statistics from Japan Stainless Steel Association, Japanese hot rolled stainless steel production totaled 215,600 tons, declined by 9.0% compared with the same period of last year but rose by 3.4% compared with the same period of last month.
Among them, the production of stainless steel bar totaled 16,411 tons, declined by 8.5% y-o-y and 10.9% m-o-m; that of stainless steel wire totaled 20,187 tons, declined by 9.1% y-o-y and 2.5% m-o-m; that of stainless steel pipe totaled 21,656 tons, rose by 11.8% y-o-y and 7.1%m-o-m; that of stainless steel plate totaled 157,346 tons, declined by 11.4% y-o-y but rose by 5.4% m-o-m.
Japanese hot rolled stainless steel production totaled 1,614,266 tons during January to July, rose by 0.6% compared with the same period of the previous year.
